Do I need a car in Ajaccio?
Not to enjoy the centre: town beaches, museums, the market and restaurants are all within walking distance. If you arrive by car, the Diamant public underground car park is a 5-minute walk away. A car or the bus becomes useful for the Sanguinaires islands, 12 km away, and for exploring inland.
How do I get from the airport to the town centre?
Napoléon-Bonaparte airport is 7 km from the apartments: allow about 15 minutes by taxi. Bus line 8 also links the airport to Ajaccio railway station in about 25 minutes.
When is the best time to visit Ajaccio?
May to October for the sea. June and September bring mild weather and calm; late July hosts the Aiò Festival and mid-August the Napoleonic Days (Journées napoléoniennes).
